Steve Jobs Passes Away (1955-2011)

Steven Paul Jobs, 56, died earlier today at his home with his family. The co-founder and, until last August, the CEO of Apple, Inc., was the most celebrated person in technology and business on the planet. No one will take issue with the official Apple statement that “the world is immeasurably better because of Steve.”

“Steve Jobs had a great talent of re-packaging technology into a user friendly interactive form. The real skill involved was the engineering to get it into a form factor that people would adopt and embrace. He was a visionary not in a technology sense, but in how he envisioned the use and application of that technology. The passion he had for his products and the conviction and determination to out perform his competition is the true measure of how he should be remembered. He brought an organic human form factor into an industry of man made metal and plastic parts. He brought technology to life.”   –  Dean Surh
